The Gunnison Community School renovation consists of a large kitchen remodel to increase capacity for this kitchen to serve schools around the district. Adjacent space to the kitchen include a custodial office area, table and chair storage, dry storage for the kitchen, and a store operated by the student population. An addition to the fitness room allowed the accommodation of additional equipment, as well as providing a vestibule to an existing entrance and additional storage room for miscellaneous equipment.

The front entrance of the school was modified to create a more secure entrance where all visitors must pass by the main office to obtain access to the facility. The remainder of the exterior doors can be secured to prevent unauthorized entry. Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work was done to support the expanded kitchen and addition spaces around  the building.
