10,500 Square Feet
The new Fire Station 3 was designed to replace the old Fire Station 3 which was built in 1975. Similar in design to Fire Station 8, these 10,500 square feet building houses 3 to 4 pieces of fire equipment including an engine and ambulance. Currently the building is staffed 24/7 with 3 shifts of up to 8 fire personnel. The building includes office space, residential areas, storage, fitness facilities, and drive-through bays for fire apparatus. Located on a lot previously owned by Pomona Middle School south side of the old fire station, the station features 19 parking spaces, including 2 ADA accessible parking spaces and a fenced courtyard on the south side of the building. The building’s exterior combines brick and fiber cement siding while the engine bay is built with reinforced CMU block walls and finished with brick veneer on the outside. This facility enhances community safety and provides fire personnel with a safer and more advanced work and living environment. Completed in June 2022, the project aims to expand and modernize the old fire station and to improve services in the fast-growing Grand Junction
