New county courthouse for Magistrate, County and District Courts, Clerk, Administration, Judge’s Chambers, District Attorney and Probation with public spaces and elevators, etc. This 4-story plus partial basement facility connects to the adjacent Detention Center via a secure underground tunnel and leads to a security/control room surrounded by holding cells served by secure elevators that transport inmates up to holding cells between each pair of courtrooms. This greatly reduces the expense and danger of inmate transport. This project completes the 1990 master plan for the Sheriff’s Office, Jail and Justice Center.
